About the Department

The Department of Physics was engaged in teaching-learning and started its journey by offering general degree courses (affiliated to the University of Burdwan) in the year 2000. The department of Physics is well known for its excellence in teaching. The department faculty members are engaged in guiding the UG level Students. Laboratories are well equipped with all the instruments per the previous CBCS and new UG NEP 2020 curriculum. Students of the department get a homely atmosphere and congenial environment for learning the subject.

The outcome of the Department is worthy of pride. Many students of this department have qualified in various national level entrance exams such in every year. The alumni of our department are continuously adding feathers to the crown. After obtaining their degree from this department, a large number of students progress vertically in different sectors of service. The teaching faculty consists of highly qualified teachers with publications in journals of international repute. The departmental staffs are highly supportive, caring, and always take a considerate view on student matters. The department is imparting quality teaching, striving hard to complete the syllabus in time, and Satisfactory results for the students.

1. Provision of high-quality education in the field of physics, training students to gain scientific skills and practical skills in the areas of education and scientific research to keep up with ongoing developments in science.
2. Teaching of general and specialized courses in diverse areas of physics.
3. Providing students with basic skills in solving problems in a scientific manner based on the principles of the survey and the analysis and to obtain solutions to the problems of interest.
4. Promotion of interest in scientific research and creativity.
5. Providing students with the appropriate education and skills in order to continue education in graduate programs in various universities within and outside the country.
