Humble Beginnings, Steady Growth:

Dr. Ranajit Banerjee, the college's first principal, played a pivotal role in nurturing the department's growth. Since 2001, with the appointment of the first full-time faculty member, we have seen an expansion in our permanent faculty.

Embracing Technology for Enhanced Learning:

We are committed to providing a dynamic learning environment. In 2017, the inauguration of a dedicated Smart Room equipped the department with cutting-edge technology to make our classes more interactive and informative.

The college library serves as a treasure trove of knowledge, offering a rich collection of books that cater to undergraduate studies and further research endeavours for both students and faculty. Our faculty is sincerely dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. We recognize the multilingual backgrounds of our students, many of whom come from Bengali medium schools. To bridge this gap, we employ bilingual instruction in the initial semesters, gradually transitioning to a fully English-language environment.
