Grievance Redressal Cell

The grievance redressal policy has been formulated according to UGC Grievance Redressal Regulations, 2012 which is later replaced by following UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulation, 2018.

Definition: Grievance is an allegation or a complaint for actual or perceived wrongs. Grievance includes the definition in UGC Regulations under clause 2(1) of the Gazette Notification

Scope of the Grievance Redressal Committee:

The committee will look after the following grievances reported by aggrieved student. Following UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulation, 2018 the Committee has defined the scope of intervention as follows:

  1. Making admission contrary to merit
  2. Irregularities in admission process
  3. Refusing admission in accordance with the declared admission policy
  4. Non-publication of prospectus
  5. Publishing any information in the prospectus, which is false or misleading
  6. Withhold or refuse to return any document in the form of certificates of degree
  7. Demand of money in excess of the specified in the declared admission policy
  8. Breach in reservation policy
  9. Non-payment or delay in payment of scholarships to any student
  10. On provision of student amenities as may have been promised or required to be provided by the institution
  11. Non-transparent or unfair evaluation practices
  12. Refund of fees, in case a student withdraws the admission within the stipulated time.

Roles & Functions of the Committee:

The committee will adhere to the scope and function defined by the UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulation, 2018. The committee will formulate and review grievance redressal norms and guidelines at the institutional level. Every efforts will be taken resolve the grievance at the earliest.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism:

The broad mechanism of the Grievance Redressal Committee is discussed below:

  1. Information regarding the grievance redressal committee is given on the college website and displayed on college premises in suitable locations.
  2. The grievance may be lodged in both online and offline mode. The college website provides a link to quick-submit grievance of the aggrieved students. In addition to that students may email about their grievances in the dedicated email id. Offline grievance may also be given directly to the Grievance Redressal Committee or to the Principal who in turn will forward the letters to the Grievance Redressal Committee.
  3. Email address for reporting grievance: grievance_redressal@dbndsm.ac.in New
  4. The matter is then taken up for discussion by the committee in its scheduled meeting.
  5. Based on the decision taken by the committee, the aggrieved has to be informed and action to be taken.
