About the Department

The department of Geography was established in the year 1998 to provide the opportunities of geographical study among the students of rural Bengal. In 2002, Geography at Honours level was introduced to meet the needs of the growing demands of the subject in educational sector. Well-equipped laboratory, excursions and good teacher-student relationship are the salient features of the department. Intake capacity of this department in Honours level is 33 and in General level is 60. In its twenty two-year history, this department has generated some extremely bright young minds who have made contributions to a variety of societal fields.
