About IQAC
Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya is a rural college established in 1996, as a State Government Aided College affiliated to the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. The name of the college is associated with the name of Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta, the younger brother of the Vedantic Scientist Swami Vivekananda and pioneering personality of the glorious Bengal Renaissance.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a quality sustenance measure. As per this guideline our college creates the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in the year 2008 after completion of first cycle of NAAC. IQAC Submits Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of our institution every year in pursuance of its Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC is a part of the institution’s system, and it works towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
The main task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. For this, during the post-accreditation period, institution needs to channelize its efforts and measures towards promoting the holistic academic excellence as per the peer team recommendations.
The vision of IQAC is to ensure quality culture as the prime concern for the Higher Education Institution through institutionalizing and internalizing all the initiatives taken with internal and external support. Its success depends upon the sense of belongingness and participation in all the constituents of the college.
The college has successfully completed the first and second cycle of NAAC in the year 2008 and 2014 under the IQAC Co-ordinators, Dr. Salauddin Khan and Dr. Sukanta Bhattacharya respectively. The present IQAC headed by the Co-Ordinator, Dr. Nirmala Rajak is on the verge of facing the third cycle of NAAC accreditation.
